About us

Our philosophy and vision make us who we are!

Our history

Creative Childcare began operations in 2001, providing quality care to families in the Fredericton area. Under new management in 2021, Creative Childcare has since worked hard to create a more home like environment to support the needs of children, while focusing on pedagogical documentation to help inform educators on the interest and needs of the children in their classrooms. Creative Childcare continues to grow to support our community!

Our Philosophy

We believe that each child is uniquely individual and we make it a priority to offer programs and an environment that facilitate growth. With our home like classrooms, children feel comfortable exploring and navigating the world around them while educators support their needs, ideas, and interests .

We prioritize child led learning as we believe children should have a say in their education. Through documentation we can better understand the children, their interests, passions, and curiosities. We use that knowledge to inform our lessons while abiding by the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework. This allows a well-rounded education.

Our Philosophy in Practice

With observation and documentation of the children’s interests we can create lessons, activities, and crafts that are unique to the children and their curiosities.  We offer activities that challenge and teach children about their interests while also supporting academics such as math, science, art, history, and life skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, communication, social and emotional, etc. Our educators strive to create inclusive and stimulating environments where children have the tools and support, they need to explore and learn!

Through this approach we aim to help children feel confident and passionate about their education, to be curious beings who never stop asking why.

Why Child-led Learning

Child-led learning is at the heart of what we do. When children have a voice in their own learning, they become more engaged, curious, and confident. They take on challenges, explore their interests, and discover the world around them with excitement. We believe that by supporting their natural curiosity, we’re helping to grow the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders.

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” Fred Rogers
